Read Online for Writers and Readers
Read online, why?
There are only two reasons to read online. One is information, serious research or casual interest. The other reason is entertainment, a graphic novel , or a short story.
The reasons are the same as for those who read offline.
As an internet marketing writer, and an author, I’ve been asking myself why people would read online.
When I researched the keyword read online, I came up with some interesting insights:
1. Read online- a person looking for something using this phrase is desperate. They need to escape, now.
2. Read books online- someone with a ‘hurry up and wait’ job. They have some time, but want something to show for the use of the time.
3. Read books online free- smart, why pay for something you can get free. Great way to find a ‘new to you’ author.
4. Novel online- A person with lots of interests.
An adventure, horror, science fiction, romances (?) and metaphysical story would interest these searchers.
5. Free book online- Anything will do.
As a writer I need to write content 350 to 700 words long to satisfy different searchers needs, but as an author I need to write content that may be a three book series, a 100,000 or so words, maybe a thousand long posts on a blog.
But, as a reader, how would I find the read online for free blog book?
The only way a reader can find a new book, is for the author to write articles that point to the online read.
Now, you might think that people would search for romance novels online, mature stories, new science fiction, something specific…
But, readers know that you can have a romance story buried and woven through a science fiction, adventure, horror story.
In this case I would need to warn people this is a mature, adult, grown up story, not for religious fanatics, or weak willed people.
How could I warn people about this?
Put it in the article.
Now, in this example I would need to warn some readers this story begins as a reincarnation, metaphysical tutorial, but everyone must read everything, including the introductions.
The readers will be introduced to the different plots early, here and there, so no reader can afford to skip pages.
Some readers would need patience as the read online story become a seemingly young adult adventure novel.
The romances are not make believe scenarios, but as you progress through the novel the horror becomes…
Hum…
Writers, consider your readers.
Readers, consider search engine limitations.
